Journey with us as we explore the work of CATIE, a pioneer in sustainable coffee production. Since 1949, CATIE has curated an impressive International Coffee Collection, spanning 12 hectares (29 acres) and housing the world’s most diverse C. Arabica collection. This precious treasure is more than just coffee – it is the key to a sustainable future for farmers, communities, and coffee lovers worldwide.
Much of the biodiversity found at CATIE is found in its Botanical Garden, a 45-hectare (113 acres) land that maintains nearly 4,400 genetic samples— representing more than 280 species from around the world. The garden is a laboratory for students and scientists, as well as an educational site to learn about environmental conservation and the sustainable use and protection of our natural resources.
Through an innovative partnerships with Southwest Airlines ‘Repurpose with Purpose’ we are empowering individuals with the skills to make a positive impact on their lives.
